Fasting sample required.Collect whole blood in 3.2 % Sod. citrate (blue top vacutainer) in duplicate: Store sample along with cool pack and transport to AmPath within 2 hours of collection. For out-station samples : 1. Prepare platelet poor plasma (PPP) within 30 minutes of collection (see below). Centrifuge citrated blood at 3500rpm for 15 minutes. Separate plasma from each vacutainer into separate plain screw capped vial. Platelet count should be less than 10x103/µL. 2. Freeze at – 20°C with dry ice. 3. Ship immediately.
